Not for the first time either, although I've yet to see any money. This time it was an online cyber lotto draw conducted from an exclusive list of 250,000 email addresses. I've won 850,000 pounds 'staling', it says here. It sent me a phone number to respond to (clearly overseas) and an address.

The address turned out to belong to the respected Kier Group, London. I subsequently contacted the group's finance director (to see if he would fork out) only to learn that a few others had also been in touch to tell the company that its address was being given out as headquarters.

The finance director said Kier would now pursue legal means of getting the lotto out of its hair, as it were. A final reminder: don't give your bank details out to anyone, no matter how many pounds 'staling' they offer you.
