Co-op has unveiled its latest on the go store in Kingston upon Thames - its first in the London area.
Located on Clarence Street, Kingston, the new smaller format store is focused on breakfast, lunch and dinner in exciting new formats, from traditional meal deals to the inclusion of a hot food serve-over counter, coffee, pastries, pizza and deli-inspired selections.
It becomes Co-op’s fourth new concept store - and the first in the London area. Co-op is focussing the new chain of stores in vibrant, high foot-flow locations and the Kingston store - which differs to its traditional convenience store format - follows recent launches in Altrincham’s Stamford Quarter, Aylesbury and in Solihull High Street - a UK grocery retailer first,
At 550 sq.ft., the store “evolves Co-op’s convenience expertise, taking cues from around the world to meet consumer demand for fast, high quality ‘food-for-now’ by catering to meals on-the-go throughout the day,” it said.
Between 7am-7pm the doors of the new Kingston store are open to serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, with quick and convenient online delivery also available - including Co-op’s Irresistible Pizzas cooked and delivered to homes and offices in the community in minutes via Co-op’s quick commerce partners Just Eat, Deliveroo and Uber Eats.
Jane Wells, Co-op Area Operations Manager, said: “The whole team is excited to launch our new concept store in Kingston. Differing to our traditional convenience stores, whether working, shopping or socialising in the high street area, our new store is here to offer breakfast, lunch or dinner on-the-go.”
The new store format joins Co-op’s traditional convenience stores across the UK, and is one of 50 new or refurbished stores Co-op has revealed it is opening in November and December before Christmas.
