Abu Bakr Supermarket has just launched a healthy eating campaign aimed at helping children consume their recommended 5 a Day more easily and affordably.
It has been designed to support parents and carers in encouraging healthier eating habits amongst children without increasing household food costs.
As part of the initiative, the group is introducing a range of family-friendly offers on fresh fruit, including two packets of grapes, three pomegranates, two mangoes, five oranges and mixed grapes all for £1, alongside additional value deals on other fresh produce such as apples, pears, figs and more.
New managing director, Hamza Hussain, said the initiative reflects a wider commitment to community wellbeing and tackling barriers to healthy nutrition: “We know many families want their children to eat healthier, but cost and convenience can sometimes get in the way.
”This campaign is about making fresh fruit accessible, affordable and appealing for families, so children can reach their 5 a Day without it feeling like a struggle.”
The campaign is now live across Abu Bakr Supermarket stores across West Yorkshire, with more offers expected to be added to further support healthy eating choices.
A partnership with food banks teaching families to budget while still being able to consume healthy yet nutritious food, along with a partnership with the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice and product partnerships with a number of major brands will also be announced in due course.
