Fairburn’s CDEO, Daniel Fairburn, with just some of his happy chickens.

Lincolnshire farmers Fairburn’s is this week celebrating 75 years in business - having grown into the UK’s largest independent, family-owned egg producer and packer.

Founded by Jim Fairburn more than seven decades ago, the company has expanded from a small local farm into a major force in British agriculture, while remaining proudly family-run.

Daniel Fairburn, CEO, commented: “Reaching 75 years is a testament to the people behind the business - our farming partners, our team and the generations of families who have worked alongside us.

“The egg industry has changed dramatically over the decades - from higher welfare standards, to rising costs and growing expectations around sustainability. Our responsibility is to stay ahead of those changes, while protecting the values this business was built on and continuing to feed the nation with quality eggs.”

Continuing its focus on driving progress within the industry, Fairburn’s recently launched Better Eggs - its first branded product, which are fairer to the chickens.

Dan continued: “As part of our long-term growth plans, we’re actively looking to work with additional producer partners across the UK who share a commitment to high standards and responsible farming.”
