CollectPlus, the UK’s largest independent store-based delivery and returns network formed by Yodel and PayPoint, has linked with Gett Delivery, the app-based on-demand delivery service, to provide on-demand returns.

Gett Delivery’s moped couriers will collect shoppers’ returns from an address of their choice for delivery to the CollectPlus network of 6,000 stores within one hour.

These include Londis, Costcutter, Spar and Nisa retailers, as well as Central England Co-operative and McColl’s.

The service works by customers opening the Gett app and choosing CollectPlus returns option for returning goods purchased from more than 300 retailers, including John Lewis, ASOS and New Look.

The package will be collected within 10 minutes and taken to the nearest CollectPlus Point seven days a week from 9am to 11pm.

Where goods are returned because of a fault, a spokeswoman said it would be up to retailers’ discretion to pay the £1.95 cost.

The service is on trial for six months in central London with a view to extending it to other cities across the UK.

Matthew Jacques, director of strategic partnerships at CollectPlus, said: “For those living or working in London, time is at a premium and people often don’t have time to head out on their lunch break or swing by their local CollectPlus point to return unwanted items.

“Our new on-demand returns partnership with Gett Delivery is an exciting development in the fulfilment space; for the first time, online shoppers will be able to have their returns collected directly from where they are, at a time that suits them, providing our customers with even more flexibility when it comes to handling their returns.”

Matteo de Renzi, UK chief executive of Gett, said: “Gett provides excellent on-demand services and Gett Delivery is one of them. Thanks to the CollectPlus partnership we can help even more people in London save time and effort.”
