Sarah Johnson is to leave the Association of Convenience Stores (ACS) next month after nearly two decades with the trade body.
Johnson joined the ACS in 2007 as events coordinator before progressing to her current role as head of retailer engagement.
The ACS described Johnson as a “widely respected and much-loved member of the team”.
She played an integral role within the ACS, where she created the Women’s Independent Retailer Network, ran events and led discussions with the ACS Independents Board.
ACS chief executive Ed Woodall said: “Sarah’s contribution to ACS has been extraordinary, and driven by her deep passion for the people working in this industry. She has brought immeasurable benefits to countless retailers and other members of this community with her commitment and intellect.
“She will be missed by a great number of people in this sector.”
Johnson’s departure comes as the ACS undergoes organisational changes following Woodall’s appointment as chief executive from 1 March.
