MSP partners with Snappy Shopper

EPOS firm MSP Systems, which works with convenience stores across the UK, including Morrisons Daily, Premier, Londis, Budgens and Nisa stores, has partnered with home delivery app Snappy Shopper.

MSP Systems, part of the MSP group, is an EPOS solution for retailers founded by Romesh Perera who has been a successful retailer in the industry since 1989. Romesh has worked through the ranks, starting his role part time as a night cashier in a Texaco Petrol Station whilst studying. He became self-employed, venturing into a retail operator scheme with ESSO at a petrol station in East London. At the same time, he acquired his own convenience store that was operated under Costcutter. A second store quickly followed that became the first Budgens independent store, soon after he acquired the first independent franchise store for Somerfield.

Sales director Greg Dockery also has background in convenience retail, with previous roles including sales director at Select & Save and acquisition manager at Martin McColl. He has recently overseen MSP EPOS installations at Kenninghall Stores Premier in Norwich and Morrisons Daily at Bradford University.

Romesh Perera, MD, MSP Systems, said: “It is with great pleasure that we announce our integration with Snappy Shopper. We see the potential for our clients to further compete in retailing. MSP has been in the forefront of software innovation and new integrations like Snappy Shopper that has credibility in the digital marketplace. This integration will help independent retailers to compete and flourish in this digital era. We are glad that we have made this into reality and together we look forward to giving power to the retailers in the independent convenience sector.”

Mike Callachan, co-founder and chief executive officer of the Snappy Group, said: “We’re really proud to be selected by another EPOS firm, cementing our eighth retailer partner. It’s a great start to 2024 following our recent IPOSG news. Together with MSP we want to work to support the retailer community, helping them to save time – and make more money. The fact that MSP was founded and built up by a retailer, Romesh Perera, showcases to us the expertise behind the EPOS system with a retailer front of mind.”
