Gold winner, Owner Bipin Gurjar of Premier in Norwich

National Lottery operator Allwyn has delivered an early Christmas gift to 20 independent retailers, awarding a total of £127k in prizes through the latest round of its Share the Win initiative.

Launched in 2024, the scheme is designed to “multiply the joy of winning on The National Lottery by sharing it with the retailers who make such moments possible,” Allwyn said.

The scheme rewards retailers who sell high-tier winning tickets or Scratchcards worth £50,000 or more – provided the lucky player agrees to publicity.

The three Share the Win prize tiers for retailers include a gold tier for wins of £1m or more, which net lucky retailers the top prize of £10k. The silver tier follows for wins of between £250k up to £1m, worth £5k to shop owners. Finally, the bronze tier is in place for wins of between £50k-£250k, which sees retailers pocket £2k.

In this latest wave of giveaways, nine retailers hit gold, including The Paper Shop in Prestatyn, which sold a Black Pearl Deluxe Scratchcard worth £2m. Store owner John Evans said: “I’m absolutely delighted with my win. We’re a seasonal business, so it’s more than welcome and will really help us out.”

Londis Cheam in Sutton sold a Lotto Match 5 plus Bonus Ball ticket worth £1m. Owner Ushma Amin said: “I’m ecstatic with our win, it’s brilliant! I can give my family a nice holiday. We’re going to take a family trip for my husband’s 65th birthday.”

Premier Reepham Road in Norwich sold a Millionaire Maker Scratchcard worth a million. Owner Bipin Gurjar said: “It’s honestly unbelievable we’ve won. It means so much to my family and my staff, who I’m going to treat with the money.

“Wins like this for our store - and for the gentleman who won a million - spread a lot of happiness. Our customers say we’re the ‘lucky shop’ now.”

Other Gold £10k winners included Yathu Food and Wine (London) Whiskey Mart (Northolt), Premier Crofters Store (Montrose), City News (Bristol), Premier St Helens and Key Vapours (Merthyr Tydfil).

Five retailers won the £5k silver tier prize, including Lakes Parade Stores in Barrow in Furness, which sold a EuroMillions Match 5 plus a Lucky Star ticket worth £524,043.10 to store regulars Abbey Louise and Valdet Bujupi.
