This autumn Cadbury is unveiling a hazelnut flavour Wispa Gold chocolate bar. The 48g single bar (rrp 69p) will be available to order from September.
Ahead of the official release shoppers will have the chance to invest in ‘A New Type of Gold’ by purchasing a single #WispaGoldHF ‘share’, as part of a consumer promotion launching on Cadbury Twitter (@CadburyUK).
Wispa is the third biggest brand within the Cadbury range after Cadbury Dairy Milk and Twirl [Nielsen, MAT w/e 26th December 2020]. Wispa Gold has grown by 23.5% over the last year [Nielsen, MAT w/e 22nd May 2021]. What’s more, Mondelēz International states that hazelnut is the second biggest flavour in chocolate and is growing at 12.8% [Nielsen, MAT w/e 26th December 2020].
Joshua Collier, brand manager at Mondelēz International, says: “Hazelnut ranked in the top tier of flavour combinations with consumers in relation to Wispa, so we are confident that this new bar will help retailers offer something new to confectionery shoppers to drive sales this year.”
