Fresh to Store, the new owner of Kerryfresh, has launched a range of festive chilled products.

The 48 lines include Wall’s Turkey Dinner Slice (rrp £2), Wall’s Jumbo Christmas roll with pork stuffing and cranberry (rrp £1.95), and Urban Eat Turkey, Bacon and Stuffing sandwiches (rrp £2.99).

Fresh to Store trading controller Sharon Dougherty said: “Whilst shoppers will be drawn to festive specials, they will still need regular top-up items like milk, cream, bacon, eggs and cheese. Retailers should also use festive point of sale to inspire customers to pick up chilled Christmas products in-store whilst they are picking up their every-day items.”

Recognising the opportunity that the Christmas period brings for chilled products, Fresh to Store has created five top tips within its latest ‘Pricebook’ - out now - which demonstrate how retailers can take advantage during the festive period:

Include more seasonal fruit and vegetables in your range. Cut back on salads and make way for parsnips, sprouts, potatoes and clementines. Consider using a free standing display unit to place in busy areas e.g. at the till point.

Make sure your chilled food-to-go range is inspiring by including festive flavours e.g. turkey and cranberry.

Your core fresh and chilled Christmas range should have maximum availability for last minute top-ups. Consider increasing facings where space allows e.g. milk, cream, bacon and seasonal vegetables.

Think beyond Christmas Day. Shoppers will be looking to go to their convenience store in between Christmas and New Year. Consider bacon and sausages for indulgent fry ups and party snacks and dips for family gatherings.

Use festive Point-of-Sale to inspire shoppers to pick up Christmas products.
