As well as the wealth of confectionery lines on display at the National Convenience Show this year, there were countless stalls with soft drinks to interest retailers - and many boasted new or upcoming products ideal for convenience chillers.

As you might expect, all the major suppliers were in attendance showcasing products, but there were also plenty of newcomers and challengers with interesting and occasionally unique offerings for stores’ consideration.
Below we have highlighted some of our favourites - but as with so much at the NCS, it can only ever scratch the surface.
Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, one of the biggest names in soft drinks, showcased its new 500ml Coca-Cola Superfan cans at the show, which were only launched a few weeks prior. Released as part of the brand’s ongoing association with the Premier League, they also come in time for this year’s World Cup.

Available in Original Taste, Zero Sugar and Diet Coke, the Superfan Can is described as a larger, premium feeling single-serve format designed for matchday and on the go consumption.
Ghost Energy also showcased larger cans of its energy drinks, with a Warheads Sour Watermelon in its shocking green cans catching the eye. Other flavours from the supplier on the stand included Blue Raspberry, Cherry Limeade, Original and Pink Lemonade.

New pack sizes were the order of the day at Friesland Campina’s stand, with its Chocomel now available in 300ml bottles. The new format also now benefits from a resealable lid, making the drink ideal for on-the-go occasions, the supplier said.

Elsewhere, ASCO Foods was celebrating its Singha range of lemon-infused sodas. The slimline cans’ bold colours catch the eye well, and when presented together their four-strong range (including Ume and Strawberry) of zero sugar drinks really look the part in the chiller too.
Finally, for something a little thicker, Yoplait brough a raft of yogurt and milk-based bottled drinks to NCS 26. Its Raspberry Yop has boosted its protein content on packs, and as well as being a good source of vitamin D, the drink was described as a suitable alternative to breakfast, dinner or tea – or just a snack.
