National Lottery operator Camelot is launching a new National Lottery marketing campaign, featuring four convenience store retailers.

The new TV adverts are designed to promote Lotto Rollovers, with each store owner celebrating the announcement of a Rollover in a different way.

Tina Thomas of Pontlliw Post Office & Village Stores in Swansea stars in one of the new adverts, in which a brass band parades through her store as a Rollover is announced.

Commenting on the campaign, Tina said: “It was such a fun project to be a part of, especially given everything The National Lottery does for the UK and the support Camelot gives to retailers. Some of my customers have actually joked that I’m famous now because they’ve seen me on TV.”

Camelot’s retail director Duncan Malyon added: “Our retail partners play a massive role in The National Lottery’s success, exciting customers about the jackpots on offer and helping to raise vast sums of money for good causes. A player walking into a shop to buy a National Lottery ticket is the first stage of an incredible process that culminates in around £30 million a week in vital funding for great projects all over the UK and the making of hundreds of millionaires every year.

“With the new ‘Amazing Starts Here’ campaign, we’re looking to firmly establish playing The National Lottery as something everyone in the country can feel great about – and our retailers are absolutely crucial in helping us to do that.”

Additional National Lottery ads will air later this year, including a 60-second TV spot supporting a good causes beneficiary and a new advert for EuroMillions launching later this month.

The new ‘Amazing Starts Here’ campaign will air before changes to the main Lotto game come into effect in November. The amended Lotto game will feature a fixed prize of £1 million for matching five main numbers + the bonus ball, as well as a new Roll Down mechanic.
