Here's a lovely bit of retail-detail for you. Mollie Ingrey emailed from Stanton St John Village Shop in Oxfordshire with a solution to Khalid Khawada's wrinkled ATM notes (which he, like many others, irons, sometimes resulting in scorch marks).

She writes: "I purchased for 99p plus postage a flower press on Ebay and it does the job."

Urged for more detail, she added: "A flower press is two flat pieces of wood held by four corner screws to tighten (originally to press flowers). It is manual, but doesn't take long to lift off the top and lay in the notes. It takes a good amount of money at a time in a pile and after we have straightened them we tighten up the screws and put the press in the safe. They are always for sale on Ebay!"
