The campaign will also have digital support on TikTok and on social media with a competition. Shoppers will be able to support the charity campaign in participating Spar stores in England, Scotland and Wales from 20 July until 9 August 2023.

Suzanne Dover, Spar UK brand and marketing director, said: “As our national charity partner, we are very proud to support Marie Curie on its 75th anniversary. Since 1948, Marie Curie has helped millions of people affected by terminal illness, bereavement and grief. This anniversary is an opportunity to highlight how today their support is more needed than ever.

“We are grateful to our suppliers for taking part and to our shoppers, who by purchasing the contributing product, will be supporting our ‘Go Yellow’ campaign, with £35,000 pledged to Marie Curie. This campaign is part of continued commitment to support our communities and charity partnership.”

Marie Curie senior corporate partnerships manager Lily Whitlam said: “Thanks to the continued support of amazing partners like Spar, Marie Curie has been there for millions of people affected by terminal illness over the past 75 years. The generous £35,000 pledge made by Spar and their suppliers to celebrate this incredible milestone could help fund over 1,521 hours of vital nursing care, day or night, in people’s homes across the UK. It also ensures we can look to the future and continue our work to fight for a society where everyone living with terminal illness gets the best possible end of life care. Thank you Spar!”
