Start-up brand Jekl is looking to lead the way in the meat snacks sub-category with its three-strong range of premium steak on-the-go products.
Available to convenience retailers from this month, the 25g bagged meat snacks come in a trio of flavours: spiced teriyaki; honeyed jalapeno; and pineapple & orange.
Jekl founder Russ Klinger said: “We are disrupting the category by challenging consumers’ taste and quality expectations of bagged meat snacks. Unlike Biltong and Jerky, Jekl steak on-the-go is much more like roast beef in a bag and is available in three delicious globally inspired flavours. It really is a category game-changer and a must-stock for all good outlets who want a high-margin, trade-up alternative to conventional snacks.”
The range (rrp £1.89 each / case size 12), created by international chefs using global flavours, is all-natural, gluten-free, nitrites-free and made with minimal processing.
Independent retailers can order Jerkl steak on-the-go from wholesalers Cotswold Fayre, CLF and Tropicana wholesalers. The products are also sold in shelf ready packaging.
