Food and drink wholesaler Denar Limited has recalled its Destan Pistazien Crème Dubai Style in 200g jars because it contains milk, which is not specified on the label.

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.

In an alert sent out by the Food Standards Agency (FSA), recalls include all batch codes and best before dates up to and including 4 April 2027.

The wholesaler has issued a point-of-sale notice that explains the reason for the product recall and the steps to take if customer’s have purchased the pistachio spread.

The FSA has urged customers who’ve bought the product and have an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents, to not eat it. Instead they can return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund, it said.

Only two weeks ago the FSA issued a similar warning for a Dubai-style product after Neosis Schokolade Love of Dubai chocolate contained undeclared peanuts.

The FSA advised food businesses to cease sales of the product immediately and to undertake the necessary product withdrawals.
