Domestos and the Unilever Foundation have joined forces with Unicef, the world’s leading children’s organisation, to help bring improved sanitation to millions of people around the world.

The campaign, which marks a fifth consecutive yearly partnership with Unicef, will see 3p of every sale of Domestos 750ml bleach (RRP £1.09) be donated to the cause.

Last year the Unilever brand saw an 8.4% sales uplift in bottles marked with the partnership label, with the brand attributing the uplift to ‘consumers are looking out for brands that have shared values and beliefs’.

The collaboration has pledged to help 25 million people gain improved access to clean and safe toilet facilities by 2020.

Trang Pham, senior brand manager for Domestos at Unilever, says: “As a leader in cleaning, with over 80 years’ experience, hygiene is at the core of everything we do. Poor sanitation is dangerous and degrading wherever it occurs, which is why we are committed to helping 25 million people gain improved access to a toilet by 2020, as part of the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan. By purchasing a pack of Domestos, consumers can really make a difference in helping us reach millions of people still in need”.
