AF Blakemore is selling off 16 stores across the UK. The company has decided that the stores, a combination of Spar Tates and AF Blakemore franchises, do not fit in with its business strategy for the future.
All 16 stores are available without a Spar tie, although AF Blakemore has said it would also consider continuing to supply the stores under a standard Spar trading agreement.
Tates managing director Geoff Hallam told C-Store: "We are constantly evaluating how our stores perform and this is a continuation of that. We will continue to look for quality opportunities and I expect store numbers to continue to rise in the long term."
