New store openings and an increased focus on Scottish food saw the Nisa-affiliated company's sales increase to almost £39.5m in the year to December 31, 2009. Pre-tax profit for the year increased 5% to £1.39m.
The company now operates 29 c-stores, having opened two new outlets in 2009 and a further two this year. A 30th site is already in the pipeline for the town of Glenrothes.
Chief executive David Sands commented: "Last year was another milestone year for us. We further strengthened our portfolio in terms of store numbers, but we also invested heavily in building up relationships with local and Scottish suppliers, which now account for 22% of our total turnover. Going forward, our aspiration is for these suppliers to account for one-third of all our sales, and it is very much company policy to support local suppliers of services, too."
Sands added that the chain is also looking to expand its range of hot and cold food to go, much of it prepared at the company's own Central Kitchen division.
