A former Budgens in Ramsgate has launched as Kent’s first Bargain Booze store as part of Conviviality Retail’s UK expansion strategy.
The 1,400sq ft store, owned by William Morrison and daughter Annabel Duplessis, is the first to open under the Bargain Booze Select Convenience fascia in the region.
Annabel said: “Strong competition in the local area meant that we were seeking a point of difference for the store on the high street.
“Launching as Bargain Booze Select Convenience means that we can continue to provide our customers with the groceries they expect from us, whilst also offering exceptionally good value and a destination alcohol assortment.
“The package offered to franchisees is very attractive, including shares and a bonus scheme. We’re proud to have launched the first Bargain Booze in the region and are keen to support Conviviality Retail as they grow further in the South.”
Keith Webb, franchise director at Conviviality Retail, said: “We have ambitious expansion plans in the south and this new partnership is the first step on our journey.”
Conviviality Retail Plc owns the UK’s largest franchised off-licence and convenience chain with 600 stores. Franchisees recently shared more than £180,000 in the company’s first payout of its Franchisee Reward Scheme.
The stores are located throughout England and Wales and operate under six fascias including Bargain Booze, Bargain Booze Select Convenience, Thorougoods and Wine Rack.
