After reading my piece about Postasites in the last issue, Bina Patel rang from her Brentry Post Office in Bristol to tell me about another company she knew that was offering something similar. Primelight, a London firm, does those big billboards with interior lighting. "It paid £50 every six months and £25 quarterly to pay for the lighting, which cannot be switched off. At least, that was the agreement. Then last year I realised I had received no payment. I wrote to the company and they wrote back saying that since the 7/7 bombings no one had any advertising budget any more."
However, after she complained she did get a cheque for £100, but says that the billboards are all over Bristol right now.
I hadn't noticed that advertising had packed up since the bombings - and I live in London. Has anyone else been given this excuse?
