Greens of Kirkcaldy Pizza Hut

Scottish family-owned conglomerate Glenshire Group, which owns Greens Retail and frozen drinks brand Skwishee, has set up a Pizza Hut franchise alongside Greens of Kirkcaldy in Fife.

The franchise is operated by Glenshire Brands, a joint venture of Glenshire Group and Round Box, with plans to rapidly expand the Pizza Hut offering through Scotland and the North of England.

”We’re delighted to have joined forces with Pizza Hut UK & Europe to start delivering the most delicious pizzas throughout Scotland and farther afield!” said Glenshire Group and Greens Retail managing director Harris Aslam. ”Pizza Hut really is the original, and pioneering pizza brand now with lots of innovation coming through! We really are excited about joining this journey with our new friends and looking forward to bringing PH to many more communities nationally.”

He believes that the franchise agreement will help to boost convenience store sales. “There are significant synergies between our existing convenience retail business and Pizza Hut and we particularly look forward to seeing how we can cross-sell by encouraging customers to collect fresh pizzas and shop in adjacent brands during dwell time,” said Harris.

The Kirkcaldy Pizza Hut opened on 1st September and the launch was attended by David Torrance MSP, Neale Hanvey MP, local councillors and players from the local ice hockey team, Fife Flyers, while the official announcement on the Hut’s social media channels reached over 100,000 people.

Greens of Kirkcaldy, which already houses a Subway franchise, is currently marketing a Pizza Hut recruitment day on its social media pages as it seeks to fill front of house, kitchen staff, delivery driver and shift manager vacancies.

Sohaib Ghafoor, director at Round Box said: “The launch of our first Hut in Kirkcaldy has been met with resounding success … We are pleased to be working alongside Glenshire and look forward to growing Pizza Hut with various locations already earmarked, as well as exploring other franchise opportunities within the sector.”
