Craft spirits producer J.J. Whitley has launched a Violet Gin to coincide with World Gin Day, on Saturday 9th June.

The latest release has been created with a blend of eight botanicals, including juniper, angelica root, coriander and liquorice, all complemented by a natural burst of flavour from the quintessentially English country garden flower – the violet.

A true taste sensation, the new Gin has a refined fragrance with a delicate taste of violet, which is rounded off with a subtle sweetness and soft scents of juniper.

Elegant and eye-catching, the new liquid has a light purple hue, which provides great impact on shelf. The new flavour also boasts a new label design, which is more prominent and celebrates the rich distilling heritage of J.J. Whitley.

The new Violet Gin will complement the brand’s existing range of spirits, which includes three gins; J.J Whitley Elderflower Gin, Nettle Gin and London Dry Gin, and two vodkas; J.J Whitley Rhubarb Vodka and Potato Vodka. Bottled at 38.6% abv, with an RRP of £18, the new 70cl expression is available online via: www.amazon.com, www.drinksupermarket.com and www.masterofmalt.com.

Adam Georgiou, brand manager for J.J Whitley at Halewood Wines & Spirits, said: “Halewood specializes in innovative and artisanal craft spirits and has the ability to respond quickly to the fast-changing needs of its customers. As such, to meet consumer demand following the craze for pink gin, there was a desire to bring a distinctive new violet gin to market in time for the summer months and we of course obliged. With a heritage in launching unique flavours, J.J. Whitley is positioned perfectly to capitalise on this sought-after expression, which will deliver stand-out on shelf and exciting creations served over the bar.”
