Cuisine de France is rolling out a speciality bread range for in-store bakeries.

The brand has said the range of three products - Spelt Roll, Mediterranean Roll and Oregano Roll - will help retailers maximise one of the top-performing sectors in convenience retailing.

Aryzta Food Solutions head of retail marketing Shane Vaughan said: “Speciality breads are the star performers of the in-store bakery category. They’re currently growing at more than 20% year-on-year which shows that consumers are actively looking for more options.

“The Spelt Roll includes flaxseed, pumpkin and sunflower seeds and the slow fermentation gives it a well-developed flavour. It’s made using spelt flour, an ancient grain that contains lower gluten levels and high levels of fibre helping retailers to offer shoppers an alternative choice of bread roll.

“Shoppers are also looking for new and interesting flavours. Our Mediterranean and Oregano Rolls allow retailers to meet this need.

“Bakery is already the second most frequently bought category in convenience, and with in-store bakery shoppers spending over 70%*2 more in-store than average Symbol shoppers, these new products will help increase this basket spend even further.

“Retailers should stock up to be part of the profit opportunity.”
