Online retail powerhouse Debenhams Group has announced a partnership with InPost that would see the parcel company become the primary delivery option for its brands.

The tie-up would “significantly expand” delivery options for customers across the UK through Inpost’s network of 10,000 lockers and 6,000 parcel shops nationwide, said Debenhams.

It is part of the group’s ongoing commitment to making online shopping “more convenient and flexible”.

InPost is already live as a primary delivery option on Debenhams-owned brands, including Dorothy Perkins, Coast, Warehouse, boohoo and Nasty Gal.

It will also be live across the group’s other brands - boohooMAN, Karen Millen and PrettyLittleThing - later this year.

Shoppers can now choose delivery times and pick-up locations that suit their schedules, offering a “seamless alternative” to traditional home delivery.

Early results have been promising since its launch at the end of May, said the group.

Thousands of customers have already selected it as their preferred delivery method, underscoring the “growing demand for flexible out-of-home delivery solutions”, it added.

The group also plans to implement a next-day delivery option in the future, to support customers with their last-minute purchases and time-sensitive orders.

Moreover, both companies have invested in a nationwide multi-channel advertising campaign that would see an installation at Piccadilly Lights in Central London.

Dan Finley, chief executive officer Debenhams Group, commented: “We know that customers are looking for more choice and convenience. Plans often change, so shoppers need flexible delivery options that can fit easily into their everyday lives and schedules. By adding InPost to our delivery options, we’re giving customers even more control over when and where they pick up their orders, making it even easier for them to access the brands they love across Debenhams Group.”

Neil Kuschel, chief executive officer of InPost UK, said: “Partnering with Debenhams Group is another exciting step in our mission to make deliveries work better for consumers and retailers alike.

“With consumers increasingly demanding fast, convenient and reliable ways to shop online, InPost provides a scalable solution that meets those expectations. It’s been fantastic to see such strong early adoption across the Debenhams Group brands and to work at pace together to deliver a seamless experience for shoppers nationwide.”
