Bestway Leadership

A raft of new appointments has been announced by Bestway Wholesale today.

Bestway Wholesale has announced a series of senior leadership appointments as the business enters its new financial year and looks ahead to its “next phase of growth.”

Effective immediately, Dawood Pervez has been appointed chairman of Bestway Wholesale Limited, with Naser Khan appointed MD.

The appointments “reflect the company’s continued focus on strengthening leadership capability,” it added, supporting long-term growth and ensuring the business remains well placed to respond to the evolving needs of independent retailers, suppliers and colleagues.

Both Pervez and Khan have dedicated more than two decades of service to Bestway and bring extensive experience across wholesale, retail, trading, finance, operations and strategic business development.

Sir Anwar Pervez, OBE H Pk, honorary chairman, said: “These appointments have been made on merit and reflect the board’s confidence that, under Dawood and Naser’s leadership, Bestway Wholesale will continue to grow, innovate and prosper for the benefit of future generations.

“I have every confidence that they will continue to drive the business forward, build agile and high-performing teams, and ensure we remain well positioned to succeed in an ever-changing marketplace.”

The appointments form part of a wider evolution of Bestway Wholesale’s leadership structure, designed to support the scale and complexity of the business as it continues to grow across wholesale, retail, catering and foodservice.

It also confirmed further senior leadership appointments across its trading, sales, retail and corporate functions, further strengthening the executive leadership team and creating greater alignment across the business.

As part of these, Dan Lewis has been appointed sales director, with responsibility for leading Bestway Wholesale’s national sales operation and strengthening customer engagement across independent retail and wholesale.

Zahir Fazaldin has been recognised as property and logistics director, with responsibility for Bestway’s estate portfolio, property development, logistics strategy, sustainability and environmental efficiency.

Pervez said: “Bestway Wholesale has built its success on strong relationships, entrepreneurial spirit and an absolute commitment to helping independent businesses grow”.

“As we look to the future, the needs of our customers, suppliers and colleagues continue to evolve, and it is essential that our leadership structure gives us the agility, capability and focus to meet those needs”.

“These appointments and organisational changes reflect the strength of talent we have across the business and our continued commitment to investing in our people. I’m delighted to be working closely with Naser and the wider leadership team as we build on our strong foundations and continue to drive Bestway forward.”

Khan added: “Bestway Wholesale is entering an exciting new chapter. We have a strong platform, a clear growth strategy and a talented team across the business.

“Our focus remains on delivering exceptional service, value and support for our customers, while continuing to strengthen our partnerships with suppliers and create opportunities for colleagues to develop and progress.”
