Last issue I reported on Hitendra Patel’s revelation that dodgy callers trying to pull off terminal scams had British names, but were actually fluent in Hindi swearing. This prompted a call from Anand Patel from West St News in Farnham, Surrey.
He first had the Hindi-swearing conman telling him his Ukash vouchers needed correcting on his terminal and then he got the ‘lady’.
“Jenny Wilson called,” says Anand, “from ‘Ukash head office’, telling me I had 10 vouchers on my terminal that needed removing, but I could hear a child crying in the background.”
“I said to her, you don’t sound like a ‘Jenny’ and she was very polite, but I could pick up the subtleties.”
What next? Kids and grannies?
