Bhavin Patel sent me an email saying: “I have been trying, albeit unsuccessfully, to have a nine-and-a-half-year-old Lucozade Chiller which is used exclusively for all Lucozade Ribena Suntory products within my store (Tylers Green Stores, North Weald, Essex) to be uplifted and exchanged for a smaller double-door chiller which would no doubt be energy efficient indeed.”

He added: “Please note that LRS offered me an open-fronted chiller with its new branding on two separate occasions in the past. However, the chiller was too large to fit into the allocated space, hence I requested the double-door version instead, but thus far to no avail.”

I regularly get copied into Bhavin’s correspondence with Smiths News, where service has been quite dire for quite some time, so I was really hoping for a good outcome for him on this one.

And Suntory did not disappoint. They responded: “At Lucozade Ribena Suntory we are committed to our retail partners and supporting them in driving sales. The initial offer of a chiller was part of a 2015 exchange initiative to upgrade some of the thousands of chillers we have provided to retailers.

“While the programme has ended, we are happy to honour the offer to replace Bhav’s chiller and look forward to a positive, continued working partnership.” Nice one.
