Police in Radcliffe, Greater Manchester, have launched a murder investigation after a man was stabbed to death in a Premier convenience store this morning.
Reports in the local press suggest that the victim, at the Redbank Convenience Store on Ainsworth Road, was not a member of staff.
One man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody for questioning.
Chief Inspector Phil Spurgeon, of Greater Manchester Police’s Bury borough, said: “An innocent man’s life has been cruelly taken away and we have specialist officers supporting his family at this unimaginably difficult time.
“My thoughts are with this man’s family and we are determined to get them some answers.
“Although we have one man in custody, our investigation is in its very early stages and I would urge anyone with any information, no matter how small or insignificant you think it might be, to please get in touch as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information should call police on 0161 856 8172, quoting reference number 436 of 15/08/2018, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
