KeyStore More Wilson Rea

Greens Retail has added to its estate with the acquisition of the KeyStore More store in Lanark from legendary Scottish retailer, Wilson Rea.

The store change hands today (1 September 2022) with a transition from KeyStore More to Greens of Lanark planned over the coming weeks. This transition involves “substantial investment into the premises and significantly enhancing the in-store offering and experience” as well as the introduction of energy efficiency measures.

David Bateman, head of retail at Greens said: “We’re thrilled to be launching into Lanark by way of acquisition of an already strong performing store. The store shall benefit from significant investment over the coming weeks to create a store that further delivers for the local community.”

Wilson will be joining Greens Retail in a store support manager position, taking with him over 30 years of convenience retail experience, including 10 years at Lanark.

Commenting on his new role, Wilson Rea said: “It has been a difficult decision to pass over the helm to Greens Retail, though after spending some time with the Greens Retail head office and store teams, I am very pleased that our store will be transitioning over to one of Britain’s elite convenience retailers.

“Greens of Lanark will be tremendous for the local community, customers, and colleagues by only further improving our already strong store standards and offering.”

All of the current staff at the KeyStore More store will move to Greens Retail.

“I am delighted all store colleagues will be transitioning to Greens Retail with Fraser Stewart taking over as Store Manager,” added Wilson. “I look forward to continuing to work with the colleagues within my new role of Store Support Manager at Greens Retail’s stores.

“I would like to thank all my loyal staff for their continuous support over the last 10 years and especially during the last few months. Thank you to our loyal customers for your continuous support over the years. This is not a goodbye but a new beginning.”
