Co-op Wholesale has announced it is to accelerate its expansion in the forecourt convenience sector with a new partnership with respected East Yorkshire independent forecourt retailers, Sewell on the go.
Under a newly signed five-year agreement, Co-op Wholesale will become the full supply partner for 12 Sewell on the go convenience stores across Hull and East Yorkshire.
The partnership marks a major milestone in the group’s strategy to “support independent forecourt operators with market-leading products and convenience retail expertise,” it says.
Sewell on the go will retain its familiar fascia and strong local identity, whilst benefitting from an enhanced range including the introduction of Co-op’s own brand products, bringing greater choice, quality and convenience to forecourt retail.
Katie Secretan, managing director at Co-op Wholesale, said: “This is a fantastic business with deep roots in its communities and a genuine commitment to quality and service. Our wholesale model is built to give partners like this the freedom to stay true to their brand while delivering a market-leading range and operational support.”

Patrick Sewell (above), managing director at Sewell on the go, added: “We’re excited to work alongside Co-op Wholesale, a partner whose values and vision align closely with our own. Our customers across Hull and East Yorkshire can look forward to a wider, more exciting range of products in-store, while we continue to provide the same great service, value and local focus that people know and trust.”
This partnership signals a significant leap forward in Co-op Wholesale’s ambition to bring its trusted convenience model to more communities across the UK, by teaming up with regional operators who share its values and vision, it says.
