Co-op Wholesale has officially launched a new Nisa store in the town of Wishaw, after the operator there chose to switch from his former fascia.
The store is now open to the public, serving a wide selection of Co-op lines, as well as other popular convenience goods.
Located on Caledonian Road, the new look store has benefited from a full refit of the new Nisa proposition. Standing at 2,000 sq.ft., it’s been set up to “serve customers in the busy Lanarkshire town,” Co-op Wholesale said.
Vital supplies
Retailer Mani Anwar will operate the store, serving the bustling residential area with vital food, drinks and snacks as well as housing some additional offerings.
A Lavazza freshly ground coffee station will cater to customers wanting to caffeinate on the go, while Spud Kings provides freshly baked potatoes with an array of fillings. A Beer Cave has also been fitted, offering customers chilled beers from across the world.
Mani said: “Converting the store to Nisa marks an exciting new chapter for our business. We were looking for a wholesale partner and symbol that could help us strengthen our offer, and the combination of the Nisa brand, Co-op products and the support provided by the Co-op Wholesale team made it a compelling choice.
“The transition has gone smoothly, and we’re looking forward to building on the store’s existing success…”
“The transition has gone smoothly, and we’re looking forward to building on the store’s existing success while delivering even greater value and choice for customers in Wishaw.”
Excellent addition
Fiona Shearer, regional development manager at Co-op Wholesale, added: “This is an excellent addition to our estate and a great opportunity for Mani and the team. The store occupies a strong location on Caledonian Road and has all the ingredients for success, combining a modern retail offer with the convenience local shoppers are looking for.”
Another unique point of difference for all Nisa stores is Co-op Wholesale’s charity, Making A Difference Locally (MADL), with the new store also using the scheme.
It supports Nisa’s retail partners through fundraising via Co-op brand products’ sales to support causes local to stores. MADL has provided £500 to celebrate the Wishaw store’s opening, which it donated to Thornlie Primary School in the town.
