Premier Foods is extending its festive cake range this year with the launch of seasonal additions from its Mr Kipling and Cadbury brands.
The new products join the company’s existing line-up of skus that aim to help retailers capitalise on demand throughout the Christmas period.
Mr Kipling is launching a Mini Mince Pie Selection pack to add more variety to its 2019 offer. The pack features nine mini mince pies, containing three each of: Mr Kipling Deep Filled Mince Pies; Iced Topped Mince Pies; and a new addition Frangipane Mince Pies.
The Mini Mince Pie Selection will sit alongside the brand’s 12 pack variety box which can be sold as an afternoon snack or a sweet treat to serve on Christmas Day.
Following the demand for its Stem Ginger Slices and Candy Cane Slices, Mr Kipling is bringing both products back this year with the addition of Mince Pie Flavour Slices and Reindeer Slices.
The Mr Kipling Mince Pie Flavour Slices aim to deliver the classic mince pie taste in a slice format, while the Reindeer Slices combine the classic flavours of chocolate and caramel.
In addition to the slices, Mr Kipling is launching two new small cakes featuring festive flavours: Chocolate Orange Whirls and Irish Crème Fancies. The Chocolate Orange Whirls bring a festive favourite into a new format, while the Irish Crème Fancies look to drive penetration amongst new shoppers.
Cadbury is also introducing two new Mini Roll flavours: Caramel; and Orange, to drive excitement over Christmas 2019. Featuring seasonal packaging, the duo is being joined by festive Cadbury Caramel Cakes, capitalising on the popularity of Cadbury Caramel in cake form.
Chocolate is a leading flavour over the Christmas period and the new Cadbury cake products will sit alongside returning favourites to cater to a wide range of occasions and consumers. The returning range has also undergone a packaging refresh to maximise brand stand-out in store.

Both the Mr Kipling and Cadbury ranges are in store now. The Mr Kipling products will be supported by a reprise of its TV advert, which will profile the Deep Filled Mince Pies in the closing shot. Meanwhile the product packaging will feature more gold hues to enhance the Christmas feel on-pack and give the range more consistency in store.
