Ferrero is to introduce a new bagged range of bite-sized Kinder chocolates.
Available from January in sharesize (rrp £1.55) and on-the-go pouches (rrp 54p), the range has three variants – Choco-Bons, Chocolate Mini and Chocolate with Cereals Mini.
The launch will be supported by £1.3m multimedia campaign featuring the tagline ‘Invented for kids, loved by everyone’.
Customer development director Levi Boorer said the bags represented a new opportunity. “Kinder continues to bring incremental growth to the kids’ confectionery category and there is now an exciting opportunity for us to move into a new sector, attracting additional shoppers to the brand,” he said. “This move marks an important new chapter and forms an integral part of Ferrero’s future plans. Kinder is a star performer in the confectionery category, as a £80m brand that is up +52.6% in value terms in a relatively flat market (+1.2%).”
