Cadbury Bournville is moving into the sharing bag category for the first time, with its new giant buttons launch.
Available nationwide from March, the new 95g sharing bag follows the roll-out of the 100g Bournville Orange tablet last month.
The introduction of Bournville giant buttons, which will be sold in price-marked and plain packs (£1 PMP and rrp £1.49 respectively), is designed to meet consumer demand for dark chocolate in a shareable format.
Mathieu Maggi, brand manager for Cadbury Bournville, said: “Dark chocolate penetration is growing in the UK (Nielsen Total Coverage, Latest MAT we. 08/12/18), and we know there are only a few players present within sharing bag. By teaming the most recognisable dark chocolate brand with the iconic Cadbury giant button format, we believe we’ve created a real opportunity for retailers to drive sales”.
The launch of Cadbury Bournville giant buttons will be supported by in-store investment throughout 2019 and the product is available to retailers in cases of 10.
