A judge has issued an arrest warrant for a prolific shoplifter who was banned from a number of stores in the town of Grantham in Lincolnshire in 2023.
36-year-old Daniel Scoffield (above), was given a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) by the courts in April of that year, following thefts from stores in the town.
The CBO banned Scoffield from the town centre’s shops and also other areas of the county where he has received an official banning notice for three years.
Scoffield was due to be sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court yesterday (6 January) after he was charged with seven further thefts and breaching his CBO. His defence barrister, Katie Attenborough, confirmed he had failed to attend court for his hearing.
As a result, Nicholas Bacon KC, who was to oversee the case, issued a warrant for Scoffield’s arrest.
The case was adjourned for a date to be fixed at Lincoln Crown Court after Scoffield is finally located.
