Thirty-two Spar stores from the newly-merged AF Blakemore and Capper & Co have been put up for sale.

The stores were identified as “not fitting with future strategy” following a review of both estates. All of the stores are available without a Spar-tie although the distribution companies will consider continued supply under a standard Spar trading agreement.

Ten of the stores are based in Wales with the other 22 located throughout England. The majority of the stores are leasehold opportunities while two have the freehold available. All stores are in prominent locations and some come with post offices or National Lottery terminals.

The sale is being handled by retail property agent Christie & Co. Corporate retail director Allan Shepherd said the stores are a great opportunity for a retailer looking to expand their portfolio.

“These stores represent a very exciting opportunity for experienced, independent operators to acquire stores - with or without post offices - as going concerns at very attractive prices,” he said.

Details of all 32 stores are available on the Christie & Co website.
