Lumina Intelligence Awards 2025

The winners of the inaugural Lumina Intelligence Category Management & Insight Awards have been unveiled.

Organised by William Reed’s insights division, the new awards celebrated excellence in category, marketing and insight across foodservice, wholesale and convenience, with winners selected by senior industry leaders and specialist independent panels.

Revealed at a ceremony at Lucy Wong in London, the winners are: 

Best Supplier–Retailer Collaboration: Red Bull & Spar International

Red Bull and Spar impressed the judges with a truly strategic partnership, from leading Spar’s Summer Soft Drinks Campaign to delivering exclusive shopper data and hosting the first Soft Drinks Insight Summit. Judges praised the professionalism, creativity and innovative approach that set a new benchmark for collaboration.

Highly commended: Mademoiselle Desserts and Brakes UK. Judges praised this initiative for having achieved fantastic growth using a data led approach and achieving overall growth in the category.

Best Use of Data & Insight:‘Grab a Bite’, the Kepak Group Team

According to the judges, the Kepak team identified a clear market gap and launched an insight-driven, turnkey food-to-go solution that improved profitability and operational ease for customers. Judges highlighted the end-to-end thinking and disruptive potential of this standout launch.

Innovation in Insights: Co-op Retail Insight Team

The panel of judges were impressed by how Co-op transformed the fresh produce experience using AI-powered insight, blending multiple data sources to create 25 customer-driven concepts now shaping major transformation. Judges commended the team for a genuinely innovative approach that brought insights to life.

Highly commended: MONIN UK&I Team. For their variety of different data points used and an innovative approach to delivery.

Category & Insights Champion of the Year: Callum Atkinson, Unitas Wholesale

Judges highlighted how Atkinson delivered a full insight-to-execution journey, using AI to speed up processes and create an evidence-led framework trusted across the business. Judges also noted his proactive approach, strong testimonials and impactful use of automation.

Rising Star Award: Aanya Shah, Red Bull UK

The judges were impressed by how Shah made remarkable impact in under 18 months, from strategic category updates to reshaping Spar collaboration and launching the first Soft Drinks Insight Summit. Judges praised her focus, relationship-building and contribution to category growth.
