Horgan’s Delicatessen Supplies has been forced to recall its Spar Chèvre Goats Cheese because of possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The recall is specific to Northern Ireland.

The 100g pack sizes are the ones affected, which carry best before dates of 12 August 2025.

Symptoms caused by Listeria monocytogenes can be similar to flu and include high temperature, muscle ache or pain, chills, feeling or being sick and diarrhoea. However, in rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications such as meningitis.

Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling the product. These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.

Customers who have bought the above product are advised not to eat it and instead, return the product to where it was bought for a full refund.
