Danone is recalling certain packs of its Aptamil First Infant Formula, due to cereulide toxin being found in the product.
The product is on sale in the UK, and the recall covers the 800g packs with a batch code of 31-10-2026 and a best before date of 31/10/26.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) said the presence of cereulide (toxin) makes this product unsafe to consume, it being a toxin unlikely to be deactivated or destroyed by cooking, or when making the infant milk according to NHS guidelines. If consumed it can lead to the rapid onset of nausea, vomiting and abdominal cramps.
The FSA has produced notices to display in storss on its website, available to download here.
Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores selling this product. These explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product. Please see the attached notice.
Customers are advised to return it to the shop where they bought it for a full refund with or without a receipt.
For further information, they can also contact the Aptamil Careline team on 0800 996 1000 or at www.aptaclub.co.uk.
