A new family run Morrisons Daily store is making its mark in Nottinghamshire - the home of Robin Hood - as it opened its doors to visitors at the end of October.

The 1,500 sq.ft. store, located on Church Street in the village of Edwinstowe, has been operated by the Sood family (pictured) for over five years and has now officially opened as a Morrisons Daily.

The resident Friar Tuck, from the nearby Sherwood Outlaws, cut the ribbon and there were free hot drinks and goody bags, an Indian cuisine tasting session and more family-friendly activities throughout the day.

With significant housing developments and a new primary school under construction nearby, the store is perfectly placed to serve the growing local community while continuing to provide for the thousands of visitors, who explore the nearby attractions of Center Parcs and Sherwood Forest each year.

The store has undergone a complete transformation, including new refrigeration and shelving units and the addition of coffee and food-to-go options making it the perfect place for passersby to stop.

Victoria Lockie, head of wholesale strategic projects and acquisitions at Morrisons, said: “We’re thrilled to bring Morrisons Daily to Edwinstowe, an area rich in history and surrounded by such an incredible community.

“The Sood family have done a fantastic job serving residents for years and this partnership will help them offer even more of the quality, value and range Morrisons is known for.”

Sam Sood, store operator, added: “We’ve really enjoyed being part of the Edwinstowe community over the past five years and partnering with Morrisons Daily will allow us to take our service to the next level. From fresh food and coffee on the go to everyday essentials, we want the new store to be a place where everyone feels welcome.”
