Vimto has added a watermelon, strawberry and peach flavour to its Vimto Remix range.

Tapping into the public’s ever-growing appetite for more exotic flavours, the unique blend of three fruits combined with the famous Vimto secret recipe, and no added sugar, creates a completely new taste for the brand’s portfolio of seriously refreshing soft drinks.

Ed Jones, senior customer marketing manager, said: “Consumers are increasingly looking for more variety and Vimto Remix has been satisfying that thirst since launch in 2016. This new flavour taps into tastes that are bang on trend currently, with watermelon-based drinks sales growing by +3.6% (TGI September 17) and strawberry & peach drink sales sky-rocketing, up by +927.5% in the last year (Mintel & TGI Worldpanel 2015).

“We’re offering the new flavour in squash, carbonate and still varieties and in both plain and PMP packs to give consumers and retailers the choice they want. Vimto Remix already ranks in the top 10 PMP 500ml still brands, based on value sales (Nielsen Scantrack Value, MAT 30.12.17). We’ve seen how important PMPs are in building trust between retailers and their shoppers – and ultimately in driving sales. We’re confident this new flavour will help contribute further growth to the category.”

To support the launch, Vimto is targeting teens and mums with an explosive social media campaign including competitions.
