The Mad Butcher is expanding its premium snacking range with the launch of Serrano Chips – a new indulgent meat crisp designed to “offer convenience retailers a more ‘grown up’ alternative to potato crisps and meat snacks,” it said.
Oven baked rather than fried and made using just two ingredients - serrano ham and salt - the new 20g packs of Serrano Chips are high in protein, gluten free and keto friendly, offering shoppers a minimally processed snacking option with no compromise on flavour. They launch with an RRP of £2 and will be available from the end of July.
Newby Groves, MD of The Mad Butcher, said: “Th Serrano Chips and their charcuterie-led positioning create opportunities for retailers to trade shoppers up from conventional crisps, nuts and jerky into a more premium snacking experience.
“Consumers want snacks that feel more natural and aligned with how they want to eat today - whether that’s high protein, low carb or simply fewer ingredients. We’ve stripped it right back to just serrano ham and salt. Nothing unnecessary, nothing artificial – just the quality of the cured meat in a new, more accessible snacking format.”
The launch marks the latest innovation from The Mad Butcher, which continues to develop products that bridge the gap between charcuterie and mainstream savoury snacking.
Groves added: “The Mad Butcher is a more adult-focussed brand that sits as comfortably with social occasions as daytime and on-the-go snacking.”
