Thatchers Cider has rolled out its Thatchers Vintage 8.3% ABV in a new 440ml can format (RRP: £6.49/4x440ml).
The move reflects growing consumer demand for premium cider in a “more versatile, portable and sustainable format”, it said.
The new “lighter to transport” can format “reduces carbon emissions across the supply chain, is more efficient to chill and cuts energy use”, added Thatchers.
“This is a timeless cider, with a depth of character and refined taste that offer a full-bodied, sophisticated drink made with absolute dedication to quality,” said Martin Thatcher, fourth generation cidermaker. “By introducing it in cans, we’re giving cider lovers more ways to enjoy this exceptional drink, while maintaining a premium experience.”
Jon Nixon commercial director at Thatchers Cider said: “The new can format is a fresh and exciting alternative to the traditional glass packaging which dominates the vintage category currently. With its rich and refined branding, Thatchers Vintage cans offer consumers a modern take on a classic cider.
“Cans continue to grow in popularity - they’re lighter, easier to recycle, and as consumers increasingly look for sustainable options, even in premium products, they offer a great alternative.
