Pie-maker Higgidy has partnered with UK cider brand, Thatchers, to create what it calls the ultimate chicken pie.
The new Higgidy Creamy Chicken, Mushroom & Thatchers Cider Pie is set to “become an unforgettable flavour experience, guaranteed to tempt your taste-buds, when it launches in September,” it said.
The pie provides a source of protein and, like all of Higgidy’s products, is made with kitchen-cupboard ingredients, meaning there are no hidden flavourings or colourings. Thatchers Gold brings its blend of South West-grown bittersweet apples to the recipe, providing a natural sweetness.
Higgidy’s marketing lead for the project, Pamela Bower-Nye, said: “Thatchers Cider is the UK’s number 1 cider brand, and its flavours perfectly complement our chicken pie. We can’t wait to share our passion for pies with Thatchers Gold Cider fans up and down the country and hope they’ll enjoy the delicious result of our two brands coming together.
The pairing will also be celebrated with a launch event in central London and supported through a new Dig into a Higgidy OOH advertising campaign. This latest collaboration will build on the success of Higgidy’s partnership with Guinness on the Higgidy Slow Cooked Steak & Guinness Pie.
The new 200g pies carry an RRP of £3.75 and will be available from 9 September.
