Beer brand Roley’s has launched its Super Natural Lager, a 4.4% ABV category-defining beer that delivers award-winning flavour, and 35.8% fewer calories than other mainstream 4.4% lagers.
Brewed using the brand’s proprietary SmartBrew process, the lager represents a world-first in brewing innovation, it says.
Developed over more than a decade in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University, the process allows the brand to ferment beer over ten times faster than traditional methods, significantly improving efficiency and sustainability while maintaining the depth and character of premium lagers.
The technology is set to redefine the future of alcoholic beverages, and it’s not just limited to beer, with applications for wine, cider and other fermented drinks, it adds.
Founded by former professional rugby player Stewart Rowley, Roley’s is already “reshaping expectations of what beer can be, creating a revolutionary new lager that supports active lifestyles and delivers opportunities beyond world-class refreshment.”
On the launch, Rowley said: “We set out to reinvent what beer could physically be, aiming to turn the worldwide beer and drinks industry on its head, and that’s exactly what we’ve done.
“Super Natural Lager keeps the character, depth and enjoyment of a great pint, but resonates with the lifestyles of drinkers who enjoy health and fitness goals. Our mission is to give people a smarter choice, one that aligns with consumers’ growing demands for more beneficial options in their lives, and this launch marks the beginning of that change within the beer sector.”
The new lager is available in 330ml bottles and cans.
