£12m Lotto MBW poster

POS materials from Allwyn have already been dispatched to retailers for this weekend’s draws.

National Lottery operator Allwyn is reminding retailers of a golden opportunity this weekend, with a trio of gigantic jackpots on offer, as well as the new £10 ‘When It’s Gold Outside’ game arriving in stores.

Tonight sees a £95m EuroMillions jackpot up for grabs, closely followed by Saturday’s (12 September) special £12m ‘Must Be Won’ Lotto draw.

Allwyn is supporting this pre-planned Lotto draw with multimedia advertising and retailers have also been sent POS to display in their stores.

This marks the second ‘Must Be Won’ Lotto draw this week, after Wednesday’s delivered a £7.8m jackpot winner, plus two additional millionaires at the Match 5+Bonus Ball tier. Since the new two-round format launched in June, 62 Lotto millionaires have been made.

The excitement doesn’t stop there, as Sunday morning’s (13 September) Powerball jackpot is now estimated at £120m.

Retailers should take the opportunity to remind customers they can buy Powerball tickets up until the 11.55pm purchase cut-off on Saturday night.

New scratchard

This week also saw retailers starting to stock the new £10 ‘When It’s Gold Outside’ Scratchcard in their dispensers. The game offers 37 chances to win on each individual card and has been specially designed as a premium-feel larger format Scratchcard, with metallic gold details to maximise in-store standout. It also pays 60p in commission for each card sold.

Allwyn’s head of field sales, Karl Southworth, said: “With the kids back at school and the nights drawing in, now’s the time for retailers to remind their customers that it’s all to play for – with more than £240m on offer.

“Not only do we have a trio of great jackpots to take part in this weekend, but the ‘When It’s Gold Outside’ Scratchcard is also starting to brighten up dispensers in selected stores.

“As always, by selling National Lottery tickets, our retail partners aren’t just giving their customers the chance to win big or boosting their bottom lines. They’re also helping to raise more than £30m a week for National Lottery-funded Good Causes – so it really is a win-win.”
