Merchant Gourmet is planning on shaking up the ambient meals category with a bold new range of products called Supergrain Bowls.
The range offers a complete meal in a pouch with a balanced and nutritious mix of pulses, grains and veg, with each product containing at least seven different plant varieties.
The launch builds on the successful Mighty Meals in Minutes, introduced in 2024 to meet rising demand for quick, nutritious options that don’t cut corners on taste. The four flavours carry an RRP £2.50 per 220g pack.
With consumer expectations for convenience shifting, Supergrain Bowls are designed to meet that moment - complete meals, inspired by world cuisines and ready in minutes.
Richard Peake, managing director, said: “Our customers are no longer just looking for convenience. They want food that fits their busy lives but still delivers on taste and variety. The growth we’ve seen in ambient meals emphasises this. Supergrain Bowls are a natural next step in our range, a direct response to what we’re hearing from our customers.”
The launch coincides with a recent wave of NPD as the brand grows by over 40% year-on-year, including rice pouches and an expanded dried range, alongside the rolling out of a new look and feel across its packaging.
