GroceryAid Web 2023

To mark World Mental Health Day, industry charity GroceryAid has reminded the retail sector of the suite of support services available to them.

GroceryAid welfare director Mandi Leonard explained the importance of recognizing World Mental Health Day and the services available.

“World Mental Health Day is an important moment to reflect on how mental health touches all of our lives. For our grocery colleagues, the past few years have brought unique pressures and challenges; so this day is an opportunity to acknowledge their resilience and support their wellbeing,” explained Leonard. “From lifestyle changes in our post-pandemic world to ongoing cost-of-living pressures, we understand that our grocery colleagues may find navigating this landscape mentally taxing.

“No one should face mental health challenges alone, and we offer free, confidential support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via our Helpline (08088 021 122). Whether colleagues are dealing with workplace stress, financial worries, family pressures, or simply need someone to talk to, we’re here in tough times.”

Leonard recently appeared on the latest episode of the Convenience Mix Podcast which covered mental health and what retailers need to be mindful.

GroceryAid support is available via its website, groceryaid.org.uk or the 24-hour helpline 08088 021 122.
