Emma Harding visits Nisa Local

The Dengie Project Trust has received a £2,500 donation from Nisa Local in Southminster, through funds raised via Co-op Wholesale’s Making a Difference Locally (MADL) charity.

The donation will go directly to Knightswood Day Centre to support vital services for older people across the Dengie Peninsula.

Knightswood Care, part of Dengie Project Trust, is a self-funded charity providing a safe, welcoming space for residents. The donation will help fund wellbeing activities, from visiting singers and exercise classes to new chairs, crafting materials and mobility support equipment – all of which help bring joy and comfort to clients.

“This donation will make such a difference to Knightswood and helps make it possible for our organisation to continue,” said Emma Harding, charity operations manager at Knightswood Day Care Centre. “Everything - large or small - contributes to ensuring our clients leave with smiles on their faces and love in their hearts. Having help like this means so much to us all.”

The donation was made possible through MADL, a charity to support independent retailers, including Nisa stores, in giving back to their communities. Retailers raise funds through the sale of Co-op own brand products in-store, which are then allocated to causes close to their hearts.”

Julian Hull, store owner, added: “We’re honoured to support the amazing work of Dengie Project Trust. Our store has now raised over £15,000 through MADL for local causes, and it’s fantastic to see the real difference it makes.”
